About the opportunity: The Substrates Business Capacity and Capability Lead will direct a high-impact team of engineers focused on enterprise-critical priorities at Intel.

This role requires managing supplier technical capability assessments, readiness plans, capacity expansion timelines, and executive-level risk mitigation to support next-generation products and technologies.

You will serve as a senior interface with Intel Technology Development groups and business units, partnering to align supplier capacity, capability, and technology readiness with future product and foundry roadmaps.

Operating in a senior customer-facing role, you will apply enterprise program leadership, technical depth, and mature executive communication to architect an affordable, resilient, and performance-enabling supply chain.

Key responsibilities

  • Set direction for supplier technical capability assessments and readiness plans to ensure execution against critical product, technology, and customer timelines.
  • Assess the substrate supplier network's capacity, capability, scalability, and long-term readiness while shaping future capacity expansion plans.
  • Drive supplier capacity expansion timelines, readiness checkpoints, and executive-level risk mitigation.
  • Evaluate supplier investment requirements and collaborate across organizations to establish product cost, affordability, and price targets.
  • Build and maintain strategic engagement with substrate, material, and equipment suppliers to advance Intel's leadership in substrate technology.
  • Guide material development for critical substrate components, including core, buildup, and solder resist, while strengthening supplier relationships to reduce business continuity risks.
  • Sponsor substrate supplier engineering qualifications and lead supplier execution for test vehicle builds, product new product introductions, and high-risk builds.
  • Provide enterprise program leadership and operate with a customer-first mindset in a senior customer-facing role requiring mature leadership and program management experience.

Qualifications

  • Degree in supply chain management, engineering, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience per business needs).
  • 12+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, 8+ years with a Master's degree, or 6+ years with a PhD in supply chain, engineering, or technical leadership roles.
  • Expertise in supply chain engineering, supplier management, data analysis, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven ability to manage performance, drive results, and lead cross-functional teams and initiatives.
  • Experience managing semiconductor test equipment and tooling, as well as negotiating complex deals with suppliers or customers.

Nice to have

  • Advanced understanding of semiconductor supply chains, tools, and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage long-term supplier partnerships and execute cost reduction programs.
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Experience leading escalations, risk mitigation activities, and executive-level supplier business reviews.
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated success in team building and talent development.
