About the opportunity
Binchotan Bar & Grille at Fairmont Orchid offers guests a unique culinary experience combining fireside cooking with modern flair, utilizing traditional northern Japanese robatayaki practices originating from Hokkaidō.
We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team and provide exceptional, personalized service in a luxury, upscale, and fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide unique dining experiences through warm, personal, and detailed service in an upscale environment.
- Ensure a positive first impression through detailed cleanliness, set-up, and ambiance control.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all food and beverage services, contents, preparation methods, and hotel features.
- Prepare fresh juices, house-made syrups, and modifiers according to recipes, and maintain full pars of bar supplies.
- Clear empty glassware, plates, and service items, and ensure the bar is set to standards.
- Verify the age of patrons receiving alcoholic beverages to ensure compliance with state restrictions.
- Perform opening and closing side duties, handle cashier duties, and assist other food and beverage outlets when required.
Qualifications
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs while remaining calm and courteous at all times.
- Good reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language.
- Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Detailed, service-oriented, self-motivated, and energetic mindset.
- Fulfillment of state and federal requirements to work in food and beverage, including Tuberculosis clearance.
Visa Requirements
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining U.S. work authorization.
