About the opportunity
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Bell person to personally greet guests upon arrival, providing a warm smile and helping hand. Your knowledge of the hotel and professionalism will create a unique sense of welcome for every guest.
You will report to the Guest Services Manager and maintain a visible presence in the lobby to offer assistance when not delivering luggage.
Key responsibilities
- Responsible for the delivery of guest luggage, messages, and other items to rooms within the hotel
- Assist guests according to Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Brand and LQA standards
- Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service
- Ensure the timely and efficient transfer of luggage to and from guest rooms
- Ensure guests are familiar with their room upon arrival, including temperature control
- Maintain a presence in the lobby when not delivering luggage, offering assistance under the direction of the MOD
- Assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way
- Follow department policies, procedures, and service standards, including all safety policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous customer-related experience is an asset
- Excellent communication skills and a professional presentation
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Highly responsible and reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
- Physical aspects include constant standing and walking, frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs, occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps, and exposure to hot surfaces
- Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
