About the opportunity: The Cafeteria Attendant supports the daily operation of the team member cafeteria by ensuring that food and beverage service areas are clean, organized, well-stocked, and maintained to the highest standards of hygiene and service.
This role provides friendly, efficient assistance to create a positive dining experience for all team members.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, maintain, set up, replenish, and clear cafeteria service and dining areas before, during, and after meal periods.
- Ensure food, beverages, cutlery, crockery, trays, and other service items are properly arranged and available.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of tables, counters, service stations, and surrounding areas while promptly clearing used items to washing areas.
- Follow food hygiene, sanitation, and food safety procedures during food handling, display, and storage.
- Support portion control, minimize food waste, and assist with receiving and organizing cafeteria supplies.
- Report shortages, equipment issues, maintenance requirements, or hygiene concerns to the supervisor.
- Follow proper waste segregation, disposal procedures, hotel policies, grooming standards, and health and safety guidelines.
- Coordinate effectively with Culinary, Stewarding, and other relevant departments.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a cafeteria, restaurant, hotel, catering operation, or similar food service environment is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and sanitation practices.
- Understanding of food handling and workplace safety procedures.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and shifts as required by hotel operations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods and carrying service items.
