About the opportunity
SGS is seeking a qualified professional to perform third-party ISO/IATF 16949 audits across North America.
In this role, you will document audit activities, interact directly with client management to report compliance levels, and provide timely reviews of client corrective actions and closures.
You will lead audit teams, determine registration recommendations based on audit evidence, and maintain all necessary audit credentials while pursuing professional advancement.
Key responsibilities
- Perform certification audits in conformance with SGS Global/Local procedures and sector-specific schemes.
- Determine whether registration should be recommended or allowed to continue based on audit evidence.
- Control and oversee audit team activities during audits and collaborate effectively with team members.
- Assist in training other auditors and senior auditors and participate in witness audits by SGS or accreditation bodies.
- Review client corrective actions and closures in a timely and accurate manner.
- Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures while maintaining all audit-related credentials.
- Supervise other auditors indirectly as a lead auditor during audit assignments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
- Current 3rd party IATF Lead Auditor certification for ISO/IATF 16949 with a 3-ADP# (5-ADP preferred).
- Ability to walk and stand for up to 4 hours at a time and maneuver multiple levels of client sites by stairs or elevator.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to rent and drive a car and travel on public conveyances.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Travel up to 80% to 100% of the time, including mostly overnight stays throughout the U.S., international travel, and potential weekend travel.
