About the opportunity
Sierra Studio is an AI-first engineering studio and tech incubator based in Los Angeles with a globally distributed remote team. We build custom client solutions while incubating new ventures internally.
We are seeking an Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) to join us on a full-time, remote basis. This role is open to candidates located in the United States (flexible) or Brazil. Compensation consists of a mix of cash and equity.
As an EIR, you will lead client projects while exploring domains and technologies to inspire your future startup.
You will also help build Sierra using an AI-first approach, with the ultimate goal of founding a new company, joining another Sierra incubation as a co-founder, or stepping into a technical leadership role within Sierra.
Key responsibilities
- Lead client projects and engineering services work across diverse domains and technologies
- Identify recurring patterns, market needs, and startup opportunities across different industries
- Develop Sierra's internal AI Roadmap, including internal tools, research, and experiments
- Contribute to the design and iteration of early-stage AI products
- Build and experiment with AI-first tools, coding practices, and workflows
- Collaborate openly with teammates to incubate and test new business ideas
- Transition into founding a new company, joining a co-founder, or taking a technical leadership role
Qualifications
- Background in engineering, product management, or a specific industry domain
- High curiosity and fast learning ability with a strong bias to action
- Strong systems-thinking lens and ability to connect ideas to execution
- Clear communicator across both strategic concepts and tactical execution
- Emotionally intelligent and low-ego approach to teamwork
- Deep understanding of or strong excitement about AI-first thinking
Nice to have
- Strong product sense or design chops
- Solid coding or architecture experience
- Experience with ML, LLMs, or data science
- A personal brand or strong professional network
- Experience as a second-time or serial founder
