About the opportunity
- SGS is seeking a qualified supervisor to lead a team of Field Inspectors, ensure adherence to established procedures, and oversee the sampling of vessels, railcars, trucks, and stockpiles to obtain representative samples.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise work activities and lead a team of Field Inspectors to ensure procedures are followed.
- Train Field Inspectors according to approved methods and SOPs.
- Champion and train the field inspectors team on the use of Health & Safety and Reporting systems, including the SIR system for collecting data, INTELEX, FLRA, and vehicle inspections.
- Requisition materials and supplies for operations.
- Control and maintain the SGS Fleet.
- Prepare and review reports.
- Ensure work practices and field inspections meet established methods, SOPs, QC standards, and best practices.
- Ensure proper use, preventative maintenance, and calibration records of department equipment and tools.
- Follow all company health, safety, and environmental policies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
- Post-Secondary Education (degree or diploma) in a Science-related program (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering) is a strong asset.
- Minimum over 3 years of experience in a related industry is a strong asset.
- Over 3 years of previous supervisory experience is a definite asset.
- Strong leadership skills and experience supervising small teams in a similar environment, such as inspection, construction, or industrial settings.
