About the opportunity
Element Six is expanding its manufacturing team in Santa Clara, California. In our laboratories, scientists and technicians develop and produce novel, high-performance diamond products for the global market.
This role supports end-to-end manufacturing and post-production operations using a range of polishing, lapping, measuring, and inspection tools. You will be trained and supported by subject experts, with opportunities to cross-train through our skills-based pay program.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver work safely while ensuring the health and safety of others.
- Undertake diamond wafer processing, including lapping, polishing, and quality control checks.
- Use lappers, polishing tools, and precise measurement tools to meet strict product specifications.
- Maintain equipment and the work area to a high standard of cleanliness and neatness.
- Work as an integral member of the production team to ensure on-time delivery to customers.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across production operations.
- Act as a role model for company values.
Qualifications
- High attention to detail with a diligent and careful working approach.
- Ability to work to exacting standards on high-value parts.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Basic computer literacy for using QC tools, equipment, and data acquisition.
Nice to have
- Previous machining, lapping, or polishing skills.
- Demonstrated competence in an artisanal trade.
