About the opportunity
- Element Six is seeking a diligent and autonomous individual to join our manufacturing team in Santa Clara, California. Our laboratory team develops and produces novel, high-performance diamond products for the global market.
- This integral role supports our end-to-end manufacturing activities, utilizing polishing, lapping, measuring, and inspection tools to carry out key post-production processes.
- The successful applicant will receive full training from subject experts and may train into other processes over time through our skills-based pay program, supporting continuous improvement and safety in our production environment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver work safely and maintain a high standard of health and safety for yourself and others.
- Undertake diamond wafer processing, including lapping, polishing, and quality control checks, alongside ad-hoc requirements.
- Use lappers, polishing tools, and precise measurement tools to finish products to exact required specifications.
- Maintain equipment and the work area to a high standard of neatness and cleanliness.
- Work as an integral member of the production team to ensure timely delivery to customers.
- Model company values and support continuous improvement across production.
Qualifications
- Ability to work to very exacting standards and expectations on high-value parts.
- Diligent and careful worker with a keen eye for detail.
- Machining, lapping, polishing, or artisanal trade skills are preferred, though enthusiastic and diligent candidates without this background can be successful.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer literacy to operate QC tools, equipment, and perform data acquisition.

- Work authorization: Relocation support and work permit sponsorship are NOT available for this role; ideal applicants will be local to the SF Bay Area.
