About the opportunity
Reporting to the Director of Housekeeping at Fairmont Century Plaza, you will keep the hotel guest-ready, set up the team for success, respond to guests through the night, and work safely and independently during overnight shifts.
Key responsibilities
- Clean and maintain public areas, hallways, stairwells, elevator landings, ice machine rooms, trash rooms, and storage areas.
- Collect and remove trash and soiled linens from guest floors and public spaces, and report maintenance issues right away.
- Stock linen closets and housekeeping carts, move supplies, keep inventory organized, and place bathrobes and amenities in arriving guest rooms.
- Deliver and pick up items from guest rooms promptly, offer friendly service, and log and tag lost and found items.
- Sign keys and devices in and out, follow safety, sanitation, and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) procedures, and manage time independently.
Qualifications
- Reliable, honest, and self-motivated with the ability to work well without direct supervision and as part of a team.
- Able to communicate with guests in spoken English; Spanish is helpful.
- Comfortable using radios, devices, and basic cleaning equipment.
- Able to stand, walk, and bend for up to 8 hours, climb stairs, and safely handle heavy equipment.
- Available to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Must provide proof of eligibility to be employed in the United States of America.
Nice to have
- Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or cleaning experience.
- Customer service experience.

- Pay rate per the UNITE HERE Local 11
Collective Bargaining Agreement
$27.00/hr for the first 9 months, $32.18/hr for months 10-18, and $35.75/hr from the 18th month onward.
