About the opportunity
As a Guardian and Protector at Fairmont Grand Del Mar, you ensure the safety and wellbeing of your fellow employees, guests, and visitors. You are attentive, efficient, and committed to keeping the property a safe, enjoyable workplace and travel destination.
Key responsibilities
- Actively participate in day-to-day security operations to ensure the safety and security of all guests, personnel, and property.
- Patrol the interior and exterior of the hotel, investigating suspicious situations or persons and handling guest room lock problems, noise complaints, and accidents.
- Document all incidents involving crime, liabilities, and insurance requirements, writing objective and comprehensive reports.
- Assist staff with unusual problems, including disorderly conduct, thefts, medical assistance, fires, and natural disasters.
- Control the key, lock, alarm, and fire protection systems while conducting regular safety inspections throughout the hotel.
- Monitor Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems and review footage as needed.
- Implement safety programs, assist with the hotel fire plan, and participate in emergency procedure training.
- Respond properly to any hotel emergency or safety situation and conduct professional V.I.P. escorts.
Qualifications
- Oral proficiency in the English language.
- Experience in CPR, AEDs, first aid, firefighting, and crowd control.
- Previous experience in law enforcement, military, or luxury hospitality security.
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the security and safety field.
- Excellent customer service skills and a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per Fairmont Grand Del Mar standards.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and basic computer operations.
- Ability to drive company vehicles and golf carts.
- Openness to a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
