About the opportunity
Penumbra is seeking a Production Material Handler I to join our Production team and help maintain accuracy and control of inbound and outbound materials, as well as Kanban levels in designated production areas with minimal supervision.
Key responsibilities
- Maintains accurate logs, files, and computer systems for material receipts, issues, returns, and lot control.
- Monitors and maintains Kanban inventory levels and reconciles shortages or overages.
- Processes daily material issues, returns, and material requests in a timely manner to support manufacturing production areas.
- Locates, identifies, labels, and places materials and supplies in stock while recording inventory locations.
- Performs appropriate material transactions using computer ERP/MRP systems or paper-based forms.
- Operates material handling equipment including electric and manual pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Adheres to the Company Quality Management System (QMS) and applicable domestic and global quality regulations, standards, and procedures.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area, follows all safety rules, and participates in job rotation to cross-train in secondary responsibilities.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or general education degree (GED) with 1+ years of recent or comparable experience working in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic computer experience.
- Ability to follow written instructions and maintain good oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Satisfactory completion of a background check.
- Ability to work day shift hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds, stand, walk, sit, reach, use a computer for extended periods, and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or crawl.
Starting Base Pay
$18.00 - $26.00 / hour (individual compensation will vary based on performance, skill level, competencies, work location, and shift).
- Schedule: Day shift, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
- Location: On-site in stockroom and cleanroom environments.
