About the opportunity
Penumbra is seeking a Production Material Handler I to join our Production team and help maintain accuracy and control of inbound and outbound materials, as well as Kanban levels in designated production areas with minimal supervision.
This is an on-site role with a day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The starting base pay is $18.00 to $26.00 per hour, with individual compensation varying based on performance, skill level, competencies, work location, and shift.
Key responsibilities
- Maintains accurate logs, files, and computer systems for material receipts, issues, returns, and Lot control.
- Maintains accurate inventory levels in Kanban and reconciles shortages or overages while processing daily material issues and returns.
- Identifies, labels, places, locates, and pulls materials and supplies for production orders.
- Performs appropriate material transactions using computer ERP/MRP systems or paper-based forms.
- Operates material handling equipment including electric and manual pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Issues materials to the production floor and maintains material traceability while adhering to the Quality Management System (QMS) and relevant regulations.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area and participates in job rotation for cross-training in secondary responsibilities.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or general education degree (GED).
- 1+ years of recent or comparable experience working in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer experience and the ability to follow written instructions.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work day shift hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
- Satisfactory completion of a background check.
