About the opportunity
Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Housekeeping, you will provide professional, friendly, and engaging service while maintaining our high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
- Clean all assigned guestrooms, including dusting, making beds, removing soiled linen, retrieving clean linen, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, washing inside windows, and replenishing room supplies
- Sign in and out master keys daily and maintain proper usage of cleaning supplies and equipment
- Update and record all cleaned rooms while following departmental policies, procedures, and service standards
- Report to work on time and on scheduled dates, and report necessary maintenance items
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies and perform other duties as assigned
- Maintain constant standing and walking throughout the shift, with frequent lifting and carrying up to 30lbs, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting
- Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, and ramps
Qualifications
- Warm and caring personality with previous housekeeping experience considered an asset
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team with minimum supervision
- Ability to anticipate and focus attention on guest needs in a professional and welcoming manner
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.A.; Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square is unable to assist with work authorization
