About the opportunity
NVIDIA is building a config-as-code foundation for its EDA compute farm to manage twenty-five scheduler cells at scale. We need an automation engineer to own this system end to end, migrating off partial systems and reconciling drift across a federated estate.
Key responsibilities
- Designing and owning the configuration schema for LSF cell deployment for policy changes to be written once, reviewed, tested, and applied identically everywhere.
- Building the deployment pipeline taking scheduler configuration from merge to production across a federated estate, including staged rollout and rollback.
- Eliminating configuration drift across cells and building tooling to keep it eliminated.
- Standing up the regression suite to enable scheduled LSF upgrades.
- Collaborating with our LSF internals engineer to encode scheduler knowledge into templates and policy.
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years in infrastructure engineering with strong config management depth using Ansible, Salt, Puppet, Chef, or comparable.
- Real experience with GitOps practice at scale, including review workflow, environment promotion, drift detection, and safe rollback.
- Proficiency in Go, Python and shell, with comfort building tooling.
- Experience automating stateful, long-lived infrastructure where you cannot simply destroy and recreate.
Nice to have
- Experience bringing a manually administered estate under configuration management while in production.
- Familiarity with LSF, Slurm, or another batch scheduler as a configuration target.
- CI/CD experience for infrastructure, including production-like test environments.
- Strong observability instincts to instrument what you automate.
