About the opportunity

As the Senior Manager, R&D Product Enablement, you will own how Axon's product knowledge reaches customers by leading a team of approximately 8 direct reports.
Your team will produce and govern release notes, help and technical documentation, localized content, and launch communications.
You will partner closely with Product, Customer Success, Support, Professional Services, Marketing, and Training to deliver the right information globally and at consistent quality.
Key responsibilities
- Own the Product Enablement strategic plan, annual roadmap, and operational work narrative covering business impact, adoption, and customer satisfaction
- Lead the team responsible for the Help Site, technical documentation, and product knowledge content, setting quality standards and operating procedures
- Own the Release Notes process, internal Release Notes Hub, and stakeholder communications for major product areas, launches, and incidents
- Oversee localization delivery, balancing global market needs, budget, and release timing with the Localization Center of Excellence and vendors
- Drive responsible adoption of AI tools like Claude across content workflows to increase throughput and consistency
- Directly manage a team of ~8 direct reports, including technical writers, instructional designers, or program managers across product lines
- Manage performance, career development, coaching, delegation models, and capacity balancing across software and non-software products
- Partner cross-functionally with Product Managers, Engineering, Customer Success, Support, Professional Services, Training, and Marketing using Jira and related tools
- Monitor quality, timeliness, and customer feedback metrics while reporting status and risks to senior leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in technical documentation, product content, product communications, enablement, or program management
- 2+ years of experience as a people manager
- Experience leading a team of 8 or more direct reports spanning multiple product lines or content domains
- Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders simultaneously in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
- Experience owning content or communications quality standards and governance processes
- Experience using project and work-tracking tools such as Jira and Smartsheet to ensure on-time delivery
- Clear, concise, and effective written and verbal communication skills with senior stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to partner across teams and hold others accountable to a plan
Nice to have
- Experience managing technical writing or documentation teams
- Experience leading content, release communications, or enablement for SaaS, hardware, or software products
- Experience with localization and translation programs and vendor management
- Hands-on experience applying generative AI tools to content workflows
- Experience leading teams through organizational change or transition

Base Pay Range
$151,714 — $242,742 USD
- Location: Remote / US (as implied by USD, US benefits, and CCPA references)
