About the opportunity
Nearform is seeking a Senior Python Engineer to join our engineering function on a full-time, permanent basis. In this role, you will work closely with clients to translate complex business requirements into innovative, AI-enabled digital products and modernise legacy systems.
You will design and build secure, high-performance applications while collaborating with distributed, cross-functional teams. Responsibilities require traveling to client sites within the U.S., with travel expenses fully covered by the company.
Candidates must be based in the United States and authorized to work without sponsorship, as visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
Key responsibilities
- Support component design, development, and maintenance while taking responsibility for personal technical quality standards within the project team.
- Assist with defining structured practices, especially in source code management, building, and deployment.
- Design and implement data storage solutions and optimise performance in applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Gather feedback from users and clients to build tailored solutions and assist with the analysis of client requirements.
- Work with and support Technical Leaders in project execution, timely delivery, and client collaboration.
- Deliver high-quality, scalable solutions in an agile environment using Python, modern AI frameworks, and cloud environments.
- Work with infrastructure using Kubernetes or similar platforms, automation, CI, and CD.
- Build software collaboratively using version control tools like Git, pull requests, and code reviews.
Qualifications
- At least 8 years of commercial experience, with significant experience delivering at a Senior Engineer level.
- Deep knowledge and experience with the Python language and modern AI frameworks.
- Experience with AI-native development practices, tools, agentic workflows, and a drive to stay at the forefront of emerging LLM technologies.
- Practical experience delivering solutions in an agile environment and developing real-world solutions.
- Deep understanding of versioning control tools such as Git, alongside testing experience across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Practical experience working with databases, cloud environments, Kubernetes (or similar platforms), automation, CI, and CD.
- Experience building software collaboratively using pull requests and code reviews.
- Excellent communication, collaboration skills, and professional proficiency in English.
Nice to have
- Experience with AI application development and Agentic frameworks and platforms such as LangGraph and Agentspace.
- Hands-on experience working with Golang.
- Hands-on experience in the Frontend working with React.
