About the opportunity

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead high-impact strategic R&D initiatives within quantum computing.

You will drive our applied research roadmap, pioneering groundbreaking techniques for quantum in AI and accelerated computing to advance fault-tolerant quantum computing.

In this role, you will partner across engineering, applied research, and product teams inside NVIDIA, as well as with external collaborators, to build and operationalize innovation roadmaps.

Key responsibilities

  • Initiate and lead multiple concurrent technical programs across our quantum computing portfolio, emphasizing accelerated computing integration.
  • Define clear execution plans and measurable outcomes from R&D and technology roadmaps, driving work to success across teams.
  • Identify and prioritize critical activities required for research success and ensure their completion.
  • Develop a strong technical understanding of R&D priorities to enable successful collaborations and proactively identify new opportunities.
  • Creatively solve and mitigate technical challenges while establishing early risk identification and mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as a vital link between research and engineering, moving new technologies from incubation to scalable solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of technical program management experience leading large-scale, cross-functional technology initiatives.
  • Proven experience managing multiple sophisticated programs simultaneously alongside research, engineering, and technical leadership.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the quantum computing ecosystem and technologies, including hardware and software.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree (MS, PhD, or equivalent) in quantum information science, physics, or a closely related field.
  • Hands-on research or engineering experience inside a quantum program.
  • Background in translating research output into developed technology.
  • Familiarity with GPU-accelerated computing, HPC environments, or hybrid quantum-classical workflows and associated tooling.
  • Experience running joint technical programs with national laboratories, companies, universities, or research institutions.

Job details

  • Base salary range: 168,000 USD - 258,750 USD for Level 4, and 200,000 USD - 322,000 USD for Level 5, determined by location, experience, and peer pay
