As a Senior Wet Etch Manufacturing Development Engineer, you will bridge the critical gap between breakthrough technology development and high-volume manufacturing, advancing next-generation semiconductor technologies that power devices globally.
MDCE represents Intel's strategic evolution within Intel Foundry Technology Manufacturing (FTM), transforming cutting-edge research into manufacturable reality.
You will drive technology innovation, develop next-generation device architectures, support high-volume production scaling, and collaborate with world-class suppliers to maintain Intel's semiconductor leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Lead design, development, and optimization of sophisticated manufacturing processes, driving parameter optimization, material selection, and system design.
- Conduct feasibility studies using theoretical simulations and practical engineering methodologies to enable innovative device architectures.
- Develop comprehensive technology roadmaps, conduct pathfinding activities, and integrate emerging technologies into Intel's manufacturing ecosystem.
- Implement equipment modifications to enhance production efficiency, reduce defects, and drive complex problem-solving for yield improvement.
- Ensure seamless integration across etch, deposition, CMP, and lithography modules while collaborating with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Apply disciplined execution and data-driven problem-solving methods to lead root-cause analysis from concept through factory implementation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or in a STEM related field.
- 7+ years of semiconductor manufacturing, process development, or technology development experience.
- 1+ years of experience in Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical process control.
- 2+ years of experience in root-cause analysis capabilities using structured problem-solving and data analytics.
- 2+ years of experience with module integration and interactions across semiconductor processes including etch, deposition, CMP, or lithography.
- Experience in process optimization, defect reduction, and manufacturing improvements.
- Hands-on experience with advanced manufacturing processes such as etching, material science, and equipment metrology.
Nice to have
- Post Graduate degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or in a STEM related field.
- Experience with cutting-edge technology nodes including sub-10nm logic or leading-edge foundry nodes.
- Proven track record collaborating with equipment and materials suppliers.
- Cross-functional leadership experience leading task forces for yield improvements and technology ramp.
- History of mentoring junior engineers and serving as technical focal point.
