Opportunity published from Workday · applications stay with the original hiring source.

About the opportunity

NVIDIA's networking software runs the fabrics inside the world's largest AI systems, including NVLink and InfiniBand switch management, subnet managers, in-network computing, and fabric telemetry.

Our infrastructure and DevOps team owns how that software is built, tested, scanned, and released across CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes-based build fleets, container registries, quality gates, and hardware-simulation environments.

We are looking for a senior DevOps engineer to work on Linux, automate in Python and Bash, and take pipelines end to end from a red nightly to a signed release.

The work spans a dozen active repositories and three CI systems, collaborating with a distributed team across the US and Israel.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for networking software using GitLab CI, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions, from merge-request gates to nightly regressions and release pipelines that package, sign, and publish Debian and RPM packages and container images.
  • Keep pipeline signal trustworthy by making failures visible and actionable, removing failure masking, stabilizing flaky lanes, and turning nightly regression results into actionable data.
  • Operate and evolve build infrastructure, including Kubernetes-based CI runner fleets, container registries, artifact repositories, caching, retention policies, and access control.
  • Integrate quality and security gates into pipelines, including code coverage, static analysis, unit and functional tests, secret, container, dependency, and vulnerability scanning.
  • Automate the provisioning of hardware- and simulation-based test environments with Ansible and Python.
  • Partner with C++ and Python developers, verification engineers, and lab teams to unblock builds, harden release paths, and set repository standards such as branch protection and merge policies.
  • Apply AI-assisted tooling to DevOps work, such as automated code review, failure-triage assistants, and agent workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in DevOps, build and release, or infrastructure engineering roles with end-to-end pipeline ownership.
  • Deep, hands-on Linux skills on Ubuntu and RHEL, including shell fluency, system debugging, package management, fleet operations, and Docker containers.
  • Strong automation skills in Python and Bash.
  • Production track record with at least one modern CI system like GitLab CI, Jenkins pipelines, or GitHub Actions for compiled and interpreted codebases.
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes as a CI and infrastructure platform, container registries, and artifact repositories.
  • Familiarity with software quality and security tooling, including code coverage, static analysis, and vulnerability scanning.
  • Solid grounding in computer networking fundamentals and Git-based development workflows.
  • Clear communication and ownership skills to drive problems across teams and time zones.

Nice to have

  • Experience building and packaging C/C++ projects with CMake and Conan for fast, reproducible compiled builds.
  • Familiarity with high-performance networking like InfiniBand, Ethernet fabrics, NVLink, or switch and network-management software.
  • Experience running SonarQube, Coverity, Bullseye, or container and secret scanning at scale.
  • Practical use of AI agents and LLM tooling to automate DevOps and verification workflows.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary and pay range.
  • Equity eligibility.
  • Comprehensive benefits package.

Job details

  • Base salary range: 148,000 USD - 235,750 USD for Level 3, and 176,000 USD - 276,000 USD for Level 4, determined by location, experience, and peer pay.
  • Applications accepted at least until October 30, 2026.
  • Posting type: Existing vacancy.
