About the opportunity
Join Axon as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer within the APX SRE organization to deliver practical, scalable solutions supporting the reliability and performance of our mission-critical, cloud-native global Kubernetes platform and services.
You will focus on system stability, clear documentation, and developer experience tools.
This role is based out of our Boston office and follows a hybrid schedule. Team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation.
Key responsibilities
- Build robust, easy-to-use Kubernetes platforms and tools enabling engineering teams to provision and operate services rapidly, consistently, and securely.
- Exemplify cloud-native site reliability best practices and write performant, maintainable, clear, and concise code.
- Debug problems in cloud-native distributed systems and apply technical project management skills to meet deadlines.
- Influence and educate the engineering organization to adopt new and improved architectural patterns and self-service documentation.
- Continually seek improvement within the platform organization for reliability, operability, and cost efficiency.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of applicable experience in platform engineering and container orchestration.
- United States Citizen able to gain CJIS clearance for full US production access.
- Experience building platforms on Azure or AWS, and operating Kubernetes platforms like AKS, EKS, or similar in production at scale.
- Proficiency with programming languages such as Python, Go, C#, and Java.
- Experience operating high-revenue, security, and/or health and life-safety critical infrastructure and utilizing CI/CD and observability tools.
- Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi to provision flexible and testable modules.

Job details
- Base pay range: $134,250 — $214,800 USD (total compensation includes base pay, bonus, and stock awards).
