About the opportunity
We are seeking a System Software Development Engineer to design, develop, integrate, test, validate, and debug software across multiple layers of the system software stack.
This role involves enabling key features, capabilities, and solutions for next-generation computing systems by collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software supporting hardware and software innovation.
This position is an experienced hire opportunity based in the United States and offers a hybrid work model allowing employees to split time between working on-site and off-site. Primary locations include Hillsboro, Oregon, and Phoenix, Arizona.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software across firmware, device drivers, operating systems, middleware, frameworks, algorithms, and applications.
- Integrate software components to enable specific product features, capabilities, and solutions while performing testing, validation, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, architecture, and validation teams to optimize system functionality and performance.
- Analyze system requirements and translate them into scalable software designs and implementations.
- Troubleshoot complex software and system-level issues across multiple technology domains and contribute to code reviews and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering with 6+ years of experience, Master's degree with 4+ years of experience, or PhD.
- 2+ years of experience in SORT/Test Handler Software, Module Integrated Software, and Backend Automation Systems supporting legacy and new developments.
- In-depth understanding of SORT stakeholders to ensure seamless system integration and optimization.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as .NET.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills with a high commitment to quality and results.
Nice to have
- 2+ years of experience in Test Development.
- Hands-on expertise in Handler Software, Module Integrated Software, and Backend Automation Systems within semiconductor manufacturing.
- Proven experience in software release, validation, and optimization processes.
- Experience in managing supplier software releases and integrating them across SORT and HOP.
- Familiarity with automation and process improvement methodologies to drive efficiency.
