About the opportunity
- NVIDIA is hiring an intern for the Aerial PHY team for Summer 2027 to work on core wireless technology powering next-generation 5G and 6G networks.
- You will build high-performance software for the physical layer of the radio access network, using GPUs to accelerate signal-processing tasks such as coding, decoding, MIMO, and real-time data handling.
- This opportunity offers a chance to work at the intersection of wireless communications, CUDA/GPU programming, systems software, and AI for telecom.
Key responsibilities
- Develop cutting-edge end-to-end reference system stack for 5G/6G baseband.
- Build and simulate sophisticated algorithms for 5G/6G PHY layer in Matlab/Python.
- Implement and optimize PHY features in C/C++/CUDA on a GPU platform based on 5G/6G spec.
- Support system integration, performance testing, system demonstration and lab trials for end-to-end system.
Qualifications
- Pursuing PhD or MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related.
- Strong background in the classic and AI/ML based algorithms for communication signal processing in wireless systems.
- Good understanding of the balance between algorithm performance and implementation cost.
- Programming skills in Matlab/Python and C/C++.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with CUDA programming and NVIDIA GPU Architectures.
- Familiarity with 3GPP, ORAN, FAPI standards related to 5G/6G.
