About the opportunity
- Salesforce is seeking a Director Technical Consulting - MuleSoft to own the strategy, architecture, and successful delivery of enterprise Data Foundation engagements for Professional Services customers.
- This is a customer-billable delivery role and senior individual contributor position accountable for engagement outcomes and hands-on technical leadership, requiring deep expertise across MuleSoft, Salesforce Data 360, and Informatica IDMC.
- Candidates must reside in the DMV area.
While this is a remote-first position, local residency is required for occasional on-site client visits, and qualification is contingent on a background investigation and obtaining/maintaining a specific level of U.S.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customer CxOs, owning executive discovery, maturity assessments, and phased roadmaps for complex data engagements.
- Set target-state architecture across Data 360, Informatica IDMC, and MuleSoft, balancing platform-agnostic and platform-centric execution.
- Provide architectural governance, quality assurance, and delivery risk management across concurrent enterprise engagements.
- Lead AI-augmented professional services delivery by embedding AI tools (Claude Code, Gemini, Lucid AI, NotebookLM) to compress effort and author reusable IP.
- Drive MuleSoft Anypoint Platform expertise, API-led connectivity, integration patterns, and API management.
- Guide the engagement delivery team, including Senior Advisors, Architects, and Consultants, providing hands-on technical leadership.
- Establish stewardship, RACI, and sustainable customer operating models with executive-ready summaries.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 15+ years of deep, hands-on data experience across data architecture, engineering, MDM, integration, and governance, including 8-10 years supporting customers using MuleSoft.
- U.S. citizenship (U.S. born or naturalized) and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
- Demonstrated leadership of enterprise-scale data platform and AI-readiness programs with CxO-level advisory capabilities.
- Deep expertise across MuleSoft (Anypoint Platform, API-led connectivity, integration patterns, API Management, CloudHub vs Runtime Fabric), Salesforce Data 360, and Informatica IDMC.
- Strong command of data governance, quality, security, privacy, and metadata modeling.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent demonstrable work experience.
- Mandatory candidate residency in the DMV area for remote-first work with occasional on-site client visits.

- Salesforce Data Cloud Consultant, Salesforce Certified Data Architect, Salesforce Agentforce Specialist, and Salesforce Certified Integration Architect certifications.
- MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect and multiple MuleSoft certifications (Developer + Integration Architect Associate).
- TOGAF, DAMA CDMP, or CDMC certifications.
- Experience delivering agentic AI/RAG on a governed data foundation and building delivery IP or prompt/skill/agent libraries.
- Industry expertise in Financial Services, Healthcare, or Manufacturing.

Job details
- Typical base salary range: $148,500 - $313,700 annually, with a range of $178,900 - $344,700 per year applicable in California, New York, and select cities in Boston, Chicago, Seattle, and Washington DC metropolitan areas.
- Location: Remote-first with mandatory residency in the DMV area.

U.S. citizenship required with U.S. Government security clearance.
