About the opportunity
The Technician, Log-In will receive samples for Chemistry and Microbiology departments and log them into the Bluephire LIMS System.
This role is responsible for sample intake, documentation review, inventory management, and client communication to ensure efficient laboratory operations.
Key responsibilities
- Receives and logs samples into Bluephire LIMS.
- Emails clients confirming receipt of samples and notifies laboratory of incoming rushes.
- Receives chemicals, reagents, and other lab supplies and logs them into Bluephire LIMS and Inventory management.
- Reviews documentation to ensure paperwork is properly filled out, including report-to info, invoice-to info, and lot number verification.
- Logs in controlled substances immediately upon receipt and notifies appropriate lab personnel to secure samples in the safe.
- Contacts clients and follows up daily if required information is missing or inaccurate, and adds data sets to assignments when all information is present.
- Forwards missing tests, methods, or specifications to department review.
- Places samples in designated temperature-controlled locations or refrigerators, maintains an orderly work area, and documents activities in accordance with cGMP.
- Serves as a backup for Department Review when applicable and supports Department Review for shipping samples to other laboratories.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma Required.
- Associate's Degree in a science-related field or technical area preferred.
- General knowledge of chemistry and/or microbiology.
- Knowledge of various analytical techniques and methodologies.
